Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Course Information:

In EMT course, minimum 170 hours of course has to be completed.
EMT course covers topics such as human anatomy, primary health care, emergency techniques, role of emergency technician, and human diseases.
To get admission in EMT course, one must have passed 10+2 in Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
For admission in EMT, one can do a graduate course, undergraduate course, or diploma course.
An EMT is a vital member of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
EMTs provide necessary medical services to patients at the scene and during transport to the hospital.
EMTs are the first to respond to emergencies and provide basic life-saving care to people in need.
After doing an EMT course, one can work in ambulance, hospital, fire department, and private medical transport services.

Patient assessment: Performing a detailed assessment of patients, both medical and trauma
Basic life support (BLS): Learning about basic life support
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR): Learning about CPR and advanced cardiovascular life support

Medical and trauma emergencies: Learning how to identify and treat lifesaving injuries and illnesses

EMTs provide immediate medical care and transportation to people who are critically injured or ill. To become an EMT, you’ll need a high school diploma or GED, and you’ll need to be current on your first aid and CPR certifications. You can also gain real-world experience through an EMT externship, which typically includes at least 48 hours of ambulance-based field experience and 24 hours in an emergency department.
